"I've been watching a lot of Manny Pacquiao's fights.. I've been studying him everyday. I honestly see a very big chance of us pulling it out," -- Robert Garcia

Former world champion boxer Robert Garcia is one of the most respected and in-demand boxing trainers in the industry today. The list of fighters he's trained include Steven Luevano, Nonito Donaire Jr., Brian Viloria and Joan Guzman. A man of principle, Garcia who has taken on the task of trying to help rebuild Antonio Margarito's boxing career and reputation insists that the reason he is with the 'Tijuana Tornado' is his belief in Margarito's claims that he had no knowledge of the illegal hand wraps his former trainer Javier Capetillo enveloped his fists in on that fateful night when he fought Shane Mosley at the Staples Center.

Furthermore, Garcia revealed to me that in February while with Nonito Donaire Jr. for his Pinoy Power 3 fight at the Hilton in Las Vegas, Bob Arum approached him with an offer to train Miguel Cotto. The job would've paid the young trainer handsomely, but since he had committed to training Margarito and the possibility of a future conflict of interest, Garcia turned it down.

Check out the video below as Garcia related this story to me and watch out for the full 15 minute interview tomorrow here in my column. The well-spoken Garcia talked about Margarito's Texas boxing license, the California commission mess, his game plan against Pacquiao and several other topics relating to their showdown in Dallas on November 13.
