While Floyd Mayweather Junior chowed down on Krispy Kreme donughts, no word if they were bought by Don King, his arch-nemesis Manny Pacquiao flew into Los Angeles via Philippines Airline Monday night.
The the world’s pound for pound best boxer Manny Pacquiao returned to the United States to promote a November 13 bout against Antonio Margarito.
Pacquiao will participate in a media tour of Los Angeles, New York, and Arlington, Texas - where the bout will be held - during the week, with his fist stop being the Beverly Hill Hotel on Tuesday afternoon.
A darling to most fight scribes, Pacquiao is expected to be confronted with difficult questions before the massed media this week, most notably why he allowed promoter Bob Arum to pursue and sign a bout against Margarito, a man who had been suspended for over a year due to attempting to bring plaster-laced hand-wraps into a fight against Shane Mosley.
Also on the mind of some will be the inability for Pacquiao and Arum to corral Floyd Mayweather Junior into a boxing ring for the second time this year.
It is clear that Mayweather’s mind is far from boxing as he reported right around the time of Pacquiao’s arrival into the States via Twitter that he was busy eating Krispy Kreme donughts.
Pundits still hope that a long awaited bout between Mayweather and Pacquiao could take place in 2011, if Pacquiao continues fighting and Mayweather can be made to agree to fight again.
Pacquiao - Margarito will be held at Cowboys Stadium and transmitted in the United States by HBO Pay Per View.
